Kaoru was born into a ridiculously rich family, due to his mother being a famous clothes designer. He and Hikaru quickly locked everyone out from around them at a young age and we’re perfectly content with having only each other. They were cruel to anyone who tried to befriend them, making them regret having ever tried to get close to them throughout their childhood and middle school. Kaoru came to the conclusion that he could never count on anyone ever being able to tell him and Hikaru apart, largely due to the fact that when they opened up to their childhood nanny and she couldn’t tell them apart. In truth, the only thing they wanted was for people to see them as an individual person, and not just the twins as a single unit. Kaoru’s carefully built wall against the world was brought down when Suoh Tamaki made a bet that he could tell them apart, and if he could, they would have to join his host club he was forming in High school. The twins ridiculed him, which included poking fun of the way he spoke like a Lord on high, eventually got bored with the bet, and ended up shutting Tamaki down. Tamaki never gave up, and finally guessed them right, and Kaoru began to let him and others around him into his tightly locked world, which led him to being a host. As a high school host, he’s open and charming to the ladies, and extremely impish and troublesome alongside Hikaru. He attracts the girls who attend the host club with the “romantic brotherly love” act While he and Hikaru made a game out of being told apart from the other, Fujioka Haruhi was the first person to ever be able to truly tell him apart and recognize him as the individual, Kaoru, which made a big impact on him. As the series progresses, he goes from being a detrimental individual to maturing into a supportive, thoughtful brother and friend. Personality: Kaoru can be a pretentious, cheeky, snob at first glance. He quickly grows bored and is constantly looking for new entertainment. He is insolent and smart mouthed toward Tamaki especially, due to Tamaki’s outrageous manner. But when the ladies are around, he knows how to turn on the charm with the ladies, and his uke act with Hikaru. He is the more gentle twin, As Haruhi put, “Kaoru is one level less meaner than Hikaru”. Kaoru has proven he can be very sly and manipulatve, as he once staged an enormous fight with Hikaru in a malicious attempt to get Haruhi to invite them over. He generally follows what Hikaru wants, and this has led him to be slightly more intuitive as to what others want, and is willing to put up with what Tamaki wants, such as frequently cosplaying. He’s upset when he notices Hikaru growing close to Haruhi, but gracefully accepts that Hikaru can grow close to someone other than him, and selflessly forfeits his feelings for Haruhi to help his brother realize his feelings toward her. < i>Other: Kaoru generally wears the school uniform, which consists of a periwinkle blazer, white shirt, black slacks and a black tie with a purple stripe down the middle. He has orange hair that is nearly always parted to the left, is 178 cm or 5'8", and was born June 9th. (Relatively Normal fansite) He enjoys studying Art and English, and hosting at the club. I didn’t believe Our Lord when he spoke about the duck site, we figured he was just in his own world, being his idiot self as usual. Maybe we’ll find some new toys to play with here. This better not make me some sort of otaku, though. I bet there are a lot of really lame people here! You know, maybe this isn’t such a good idea, I don’t want to be assosicated with such a senseless crowd, it could be troublesome. Oh, but Haruhi talked about this place too, so maybe…It’s a place for commeners? Aw, that explains why Tamaki is always crawling around here. Who can resist dangerous brotherly love? ♥ Third Person: Kaoru gazed off thoughtfully into the clear afternoon sky from the porch he stood on. Misuzu's Mansion was definitely a twist on his usual way to spend summer holiday, especially since he was spending it with the Host Club as well. But he found he didn't mind it as much he thought, and it definitely had its amusing perks, especially when Tamaki screwed up for the millionth time trying to fix the fence, or seeing Haruhi in her feminine apron. It really was kinda cute, especially since her feminine side rarely showed He glanced over at Hikaru, his older twin, symmetrical in every way, and saw him laughing with Haruhi. He smiled a little at the sight, thinking of how slow Hikaru was when it came to how felt about Haruhi. Honestly, it was almost as bad Tamaki, with all his Daddy/Daughter ruckus. He laughed aloud at the thought of Hikaru acting like her father, running around like a complete idiot. "Eh? What is it, Kaoru?" Haruhi asked, smiling and waiting to see that amused him. Kaoru grinned and dismissed it. Maybe he's tell Hikaru about it...someday.
